Why AlaskaCannabis.org Exists
Alaska has one of the longest cannabis histories of any U.S. state. The 1975 Ravin v. State decision established a constitutional right to private marijuana possession decades before any state legalized, and voters passed Ballot Measure 2 in 2014 to create a full commercial cannabis market. Legal sales began in October 2016, and the industry is now regulated by the Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office (AMCO). But finding reliable, comprehensive, and non-commercial information about Alaska cannabis law, dispensaries, the medical program, and business licensing in one place has never been easy.
AlaskaCannabis.org fills that gap. We're a free educational resource that brings together everything you need to know about cannabis in Alaska — from current laws and possession limits to dispensary locations, visitor guides, business licensing, and tax revenue data.
